Preseason is now in full effect, the Gladiators Senior Team are a number of training sessions deep and spirits are high with good numbers and good tempo evident early on, even considering arctic conditions.
Club Chairman and Senior head coach Neil O’Hare said:
“Everyone at the club is excited about the new intake of players at all levels across the club, the Youth team has virtually doubled in size, the Junior squad is looking very healthy despite losing several key players to the Senior team and will be very tough to beat again. The Senior squad has been bolstered by new faces, returners and graduating Junior players and are looking forward to year of very competitive football. After years of being forced to conduct training away from our playing base we are now firmly installed at Colchester Rugby Club and we are able to take advantage of the facilities there to great effect. This is a year when every team at the club can make an impact and we certainly have very high expectations going into the new season.”
It is fair to say that, although early days, people are already looking forward to a competitive season ahead for the Gladiators Senior Team.
