The Colchester Gladiators defeated the East Kent Mavericks 22-14 to improve their record to 7-2 and set up a division title decider this Sunday against the 7-1-1 Farnham Knights. Short on player numbers and a HC, the youth team left for Kent high in spirits on the mini bus. On arrival at Kent’s home ground the view that greeted the team was hundreds of people playing flag football from under 8’s thru to under 14’s. The Colchester Gladiators maintained their turn around in form, registering their fifth win in succession, against the division title favourites, Solent Thrashers. In doing so, they overturned a 42-6 defeat in their opening fixture, and with a rematch against new leaders the Farnham Knights due on the final day of the season, they put themselves back in the division title race.
